Silent Song 6

Silent Song 6 was handcrafted from individual sheets of paper layered one over the other using the artist’s signature paper layering technique. The resulting relief-like, embossed effect reveals the underlying pattern. By incorporating her style into Es Devlin’s design, Layla May Arthur demonstrates the diverse qualities and possibilities of paper. The variety of patterns created for this work are largely inspired by the architectural features of the ancient San Giorgio Maggiore monastery.
