This totem was crafted by Jalapoeira Apurada in collaboration with A Gente Transforma by Renato Imbroisi. It was hand woven from golden grass and buriti palm fibres, using traditional techniques passed down through generations of Quilombola women in Brazil’s Jalapão region. Reflecting a deep connection to the Cerrado landscape, the work celebrates golden grass as a living symbol of cultural identity, memory and resilience.
