Light of Longing
This lamp was created during Homo Faber Fellowship 2025/26 by lamp maker Helena Imaginário based in Portugal, and Chinese fellow Ou Sansan. It combines a milled birch wood structure with hand-woven linen and dried sheep intestines. Emerging from a dialogue between Portuguese and Mongolian perspectives on the emotional hunger of longing, the work evokes the physical sensation of yearning felt in the abdomen. When light passes through the thin layer of intestinal membrane, a symbolic material, it seems to expose the fragility of existence.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
