This artwork was created during Homo Faber Fellowship 2025/26 by paper sculptor Kuniko Maeda based in the UK, and Japanese fellow Momoka Ienaga. It was sculpted from paper treated with kakishibu dye and from silk organza, integrating delicate wire structures. The composition explores the interplay of materials through their textures, translucency and the shadows they cast. Inspired by the way organic forms adapt during periods of transition, the work aims to convey the in-between space where two perspectives meet, transform and find a new equilibrium.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
