This vessel was created during Homo Faber Fellowship 2025/26 by ceramicist Pablo TITO based in Spain, and Spanish fellow Tito Martínez. A modern interpretation of the iconic silhouette of the Alhambra vase, this piece honours artisanal traditions while embracing a contemporary Inspired by Nasrid silhouettes, it was hand carved from terracotta featuring latticework, relief engraving and geometric openwork. A copper oxide slip was applied to the surface to create a textured patina. Reinterpreting the iconic silhouette of the Alhambra vase, the work combines a contemporary aesthetic with an experimental use of oxide that evokes the appearance of carved stone.
