Silent Song 9 was made using over 300,000 silver-lined Czech glass beads strung on stainless steel wires over polycarbonate trusses. Coloured crystal beads topped with larger glass spheres punctuate the surface. Brilliance Bead Atelier created a radiant ripple of shimmering beads following the linear details of Es Devlin’s design, ‘freezing’ the sound waves generated by the bells of San Giorgio Maggiore. The clusters of coloured and clear beads underscore the pulsating rhythm of the composition.
