Meu céu, meu mar, meu lar; Os faróis contam histórias

These beach parasols were embroidered by the associations Maria Rita Caminhos Culturais and Arteiras do Somar respectively, as part of the Linha do Mar project, imagined by designer Renato Imbroisi. They were decorated using both freehand embroidery and a mixed media tapestry technique combining patchwork and sewing. Crafted by local groups of artisans, the Linha do Mar project presents a collection of 25 sunshades celebrating the cultural and natural uniqueness of Brazilian coastal states. These two pieces both originate from the country’s southern region, and their titles translate to 'My sky, my sea, my home' and 'Lighthouses tell stories'.
