Exhibited in AN ATELIER ALIVE

Glass, Copper, Metal

This installation was designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana and crafted by Venini. At its base are cotisso raw glass blocks, with an irregular texture that captures and refracts natural light. Within the body are portions of historic Venini works, held together by copper wires hooked to an internal metal structure. Crystallising the history of the Venini furnace into an organic and powerful form, the work celebrates the energy of glass in its purest state. Moving away from the idea of the ‘finished' and perfect piece, it elevates the concept of recovery to an art form. It is a piece that demands close observation, inviting the viewer to become an archaeologist of Muranese beauty as they discover, hidden within the metal mesh, fragments of a fazzoletto or the intricate patterns of a filigrana.

Design by Fernando and Humberto Campana for Venini.
