These vessels by Keoni were lathe turned from maple hardwood to create a canvas of concentric rings. The pattern was achieved through carving, enhanced by over 5000 woodburnt lines, and coloured with repeated layers of India inks and dyes. Drawing inspiration from tribal art, the pieces create the illusion of woven and beaded basketry.
