Brass, Steel, Marble, Oak wood
This chest of drawers by Erwan Boulloud was crafted in brass, combining traditional metalsmithing techniques with contemporary marquetry. Inspired both by a Louis XIV console by Charles-André Boulle and by Rembrandt’s Flayed Ox painting, the piece represents a golden calf. This figure symbolises humanity’s wandering, as Man turns a blind eye to what is right.
