Drawing on ceramics near Kyoto

In this workshop, participants can draw their desired design on a dish, teacup or tea bowl made by Asahi ware craftspeople. Using a brush, you will apply black or brown iron on the ceramic of your choice to draw your own design. This is also a session that children can enjoy. After the session, an Asahi artisan will glaze your unique piece with Hanshi, a transparent glaze that will create dappled patterns and become a warm pink colour when fired. Your final piece will be shipped to your address within two months.
