Pebble mosaic workshop

This workshop develops over 10 hours in two consecutive days, and it is designed to give an intensive immersion into the traditional making of pebble mosaic and its historical development. Participants will have the opportunity to practice directly in Gabriele's studio in Genoa's historical center, guided to create their own mosaic. Theoretical activity is provided with inside knowledge of the Genoese mosaics of Renaissance tradition, also visiting some of the most important pebble mosaics of the Genoa metropolitan area. Full information will be provided on traditional materials and their use, typology of right pebbles and preparation of lime mortars, drawing techniques, modern techniques of restoration, etc."
