Taster in mosaic making in Barcelona

This workshop bears the name of Gaudí, because among the different techniques used in mosaic making, trencadís is the Catalan technique favoured by renowned architect Gaudí in his buildings. Artisan mosaic maker, Livia Garreta has mastered this technique since the opening of her workshop in 1989. In this experience, inspired by the works and colours of the great architect, Livia introduces the technique and process by teaching participants to break the tiles into irregular pieces with a hammer and learn how to juxtapose the different pieces to devise their own creations.
