This sculpture was designed by Sumakshi Singh and crafted by Mohan Kumar Verma. It was drawn, stencilled and hand cut from banana fibre paper using Sanjhi, a 16th-century sacred paper-cutting tradition from Mathura and Vrindavan in India. A monument to impermanence, the piece evokes how buildings and homes fade with time, leaving behind only pattern, trace and memory. Its perforated silhouette holds both presence and absence.
