Jay Skin 5 (Black Mandu) is a wall-hanging sculpture constructed by combining a rotten banana peel with Florida’s scrub jay, an endemic bird. The blue bird elements are built separately and then joined to become part of the peel form. The surface is coloured and finished with a combination of underglaze and crystal glazes.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
