The call of the ancients

Led by art director and founder Martín Bustamante, the Facón Argentina project rescues, reinterprets and projects native culture through a modern lens by connecting traditional Argentine craftsmanship with contemporary design. Facón Argentina becomes a material narrative, and a space where objects, stories and Argentine landscapes coexist. Martín’s practice combines curation, design and creative direction, with a strong emphasis on carefully selecting pieces and developing collaborations that highlight local knowledge and traditions. Via his direct network of artisans across the regions of the country, he brings rural communities and global design circuits together.

Immersed in the Andes and in the origins of pre-Columbian culture, pottery is not just a design object but a living history and an ancestral language passed down from generation to generation, deeply rooted in the land and in cultural memory. Through the work of Facón Argentina, its cultural heritage is reinterpreted via contemporary design, creating a piece that seeks to build a bridge between tradition and the present, uniting heritage craftsmanship with modern behaviours in everyday life.
