Cane, Wood
This table was designed by Tadeáš Podracký for Shakti Design Residency and crafted by Ajay Gour and the Heirloom Naga Centre. The solid tabletop, made from locally sourced wood, was hand carved with shallow reliefs and linear grooves rooted in Konyak morung architecture. The sculptural base was hand woven from locally sourced cane. Embracing contrast and continuity, the piece brings together a solid top and fluid base, allowing two materials and craft traditions to appear to grow into one another.
