This installation was sculpted by Ankon Mitra, and macraméd by Shalini Mithal. It was created by adorning storm-felled acacia driftwood with paper-twine and raffia macramé. Individual woven sections were mapped to the wooden frame and knotted separately using a variety of techniques. Preserving the memory of a fallen tree while reflecting on the impact of human intervention, the work questions whether craft can honour nature without consuming it recklessly.
