Banana Tower B
This work is a 3D jiseung piece using a plastic banana form mounted on a stand, in this instance featuring the bananas hanging together at the top of the stand. Inspired by the appearance of bananas hanging from a tree after harvest, Young Soon Lee covered the structure using the Korean jiseung technique and transformed it into an artwork. Korean hanji paper, including pages from old books, was rubbed and twisted by hand into cords and applied strand by strand over the surface.
