Miniature oil painting of Turner's Fishermen at Sea, 1796

Artist and artisan Fátima Doña Molinero created this miniature oil painting in 1:12 scale, using dark blue, green, and gold as the main colours. She painted the piece on synthetic ivory, working in successive layers from lightest to darkest. For the frame, she used digital modelling to recreate a period-appropriate design, which she then 3D printed and manually post-processed. She applied handcrafted gold leaf. The finished painting measures 9.8 x 7.7 cm. The gold leaf used was purchased from Berta Battiloro, a workshop in Venice.
