Salmanazar 1

This vase is made with Swiss pine using the cRAKŬ technique. After the shape was first turned on the lathe, it was treated with fire and then coloured. The contrast between the red of the cracked areas and the black of the smooth surfaces enhances the interplay between solid and hollow forms.
