Oval 1

This sculpture is made from Swiss pine using the cRAKŬ technique. Once the form was shaped through carving, the piece was fire-treated and then coloured. The contrast between the red of the crackled areas and the black of the smooth surfaces amplifies the interplay between solid and void.
