GokuGoku #1

GokuGoku is an onomatopoeic Japanese word meaning to bubble. This wall sculpture protrudes from the wall like bubbling water with its bubbling tops and crater glaze adding a sense of movement to the work. The sculpture is made of hand-built and hand-moulded porcelain, and the tops are blue-tinted stoneware. A glaze was also applied and then wiped off, in order to enhance the depth of each bubble. The work was fired once at 1260°C.
