Firebirds series

Standing in a rectangular frame, this bas-relief is made of hand cut sculpted paper. Small feather-like strips of cut paper are superimposed to create the bright composition. The natural white of the rag paper, burnt on the cut edges, dominates the colour palette together with the ink blue paper, and interact with subtle touches of light colours such as Turkish blue, and beige.
