This course is aimed at anyone interested in learning how to carve wood, either to restore furniture or for personal enjoyment. Students will learn traditional furniture carving or modern carving, sculpture. A geometric carving will be done first, then different carvings in low relief. Gothic carving, flower, frame with different floral ornaments, mouldings with scrolls, frame with interlacing, etc. More complicated motifs can then be carved according to each student's level. Contemporary carving can also be studied. Three-dimensional sculptures in clay to learn how to mould and prepare a model and then move on to direct wood carving.
