In this two-day workshop, Abigail will demonstrate a variety of techniques that she uses to create her papier mâché animal sculptures without the use of moulds, sculpting the form from scrunched up newspaper, wire and cardboard. Each participant is encouraged to choose the animal they want to make. The first day is dedicated to the creation of the animal sculptures and covering them with papier mâché so they can be left to dry overnight. On the second day, Abigail will offer participants the opportunity to play around with acrylic paint and coloured pencils, demonstrating different ways to use it to add colour and texture to their animals. Participants will leave with at least one finished animal sculpture.
