Furniture maker Peter Lanyon developed this chair making course for both beginners and intermediate learners to help them bring their greenwood project to life. During the course you will create a chair with a strong sculptural presence that uses the natural properties of greenwood to produce strong, glue-free joints. You will also learn how to accurately split wood with a froe and how to shape it using a draw knife and spoke shaves. To complete the chair, you will weave its seat using all natural materials. The course runs in two locations every year: at Peter’s studio in the UK and at the Cerdeira Home for Creativity in Portugal.
