Born from the desire to merge traditional craftsmanship with a poetic and playful impulse, Ornamental by Lameice was founded in 2021 by Jerusalemite Palestinian designer Lameice Abu Aker, based in Milan. The atelier aims to transform handcrafted objects into vessels of emotion, memory and cultural heritage. Its collections take shape through blown glass created in collaboration with a family of glassblowers from Jaba’, a West Bank village, where this art has been passed down for generations. Palestine has a long and rich history linked to glass, and Ornamental by Lameice helps keep this legacy alive by working exclusively with free-blown glass, without any moulds.

Ornamental by Lameice’s style is rooted in optimism, serenity and curiosity. The result is colourful objects with unexpected forms that invite reflection and sometimes suggest surreal dimensions. The production process begins in Milan, where sketches and digital models are developed to guide the subsequent phases of making. This initiates a continuous dialogue with the artisans, one that values slowness, exchange and respect for the material’s intrinsic character and gentle rebellion. The team at Ornamental by Lameice carries forward research that weaves together a rich cultural heritage with uninhibited imagination.
