Founded in 2005 by the Leymarie family, owners of the Beldi Country Club Marrakech, La Poterie by Beldi was established to breathe new life into traditional Moroccan pottery. The workshop brings together a team of seven artisans, expert potters who shape each piece by hand, from plates and bowls to vases and lamps, in a range of natural glazes and colours. The workshop collaborates with Marrakech’s finest hotels and restaurants for which custom tableware and accessories for chefs are made.
La Poterie by Beldi quickly earned a reputation for excellence since its founding. Every piece is made to order, with a respect for traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail. While the focus remains on the local market, export is also part of the atelier's services. Housed within the Beldi Marrakech complex, La Poterie by Beldi is also a place where visitors can discover ceramics first-hand. Pottery workshops for children have become a highlight for hotel guests, and a new pottery initiation programme is being developed to further nurture emerging talent.
