Celebrating the regions of Georgia

Georgian jewellery atelier Kebzari was established in 2018 to showcase the beauty of ancient Georgian jewellery. All three founders of the studio Nino Mamulashvili, Luarsab Togonidze and Nino Andriashvili were inspired by the idea of creating jewellery based on the synthesis of traditional and contemporary aesthetics. Kebzari develops jewellery collections based on the regions of Georgia. Each jewellery line begins with a preliminary detailed study and observation of artifacts, regional museum collections and scholarly literature, after which the new designs are made.

The jewellery of the Svaneti region (a north western mountainous region of Georgia) was the first collection to revitalize the local endangered tradition of niello engraving. The success of the first project was followed by new jewellery lines based on the traditions of other regions of Georgia. Collections include necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pins and brooches created with a special emphasis on preserving the main spirit and style of traditional jewellery.
