Collaborative Craft Projects (CCP) began over three decades ago as a passion project when founder Jane Taylor started commissioning woven natural fibre homeware products from women artisans in two local communities. Today, the atelier is a thriving hub of creativity, collaboration and craftsmanship deeply rooted in the culture and heritage of its homeland, Zimbabwe. CCP develops unique, high-quality, sustainable, fair-trade products in partnership with women artisans from 25 communities throughout Zimbabwe. Primarily working with ilala palm fibre, CCP artisans are masters of techniques such as coil weaving, crochet, and organic dyeing. These traditional skills have been handed down through many generations.
Guided by the principles of People, Place, Provenance, Planet, and Purpose first and Product second, the CCP's mission is to help women artisans achieve longstanding independence by developing their own small, sustainable businesses. By doing so, CCP has created an inclusive sisterhood that goes beyond any traditional workshop framework.
