Born in October 2019 in the picturesque hills of Mogliano, in the Italian region of Marche, Intreccio Vivo embodies the successful revival of a century-old weaving tradition at risk of disappearing. It all started with a young man named Alex, who rediscovered his family's heritage through his great-grandfather Luigi, a pioneering basket maker of the 1940s in the area. Today, the atelier specialises in sophisticated weaving techniques for luxury fashion and furniture design. Intreccio Vivo serves as a shining example of how traditional artisanal skills can be successfully revived to thrive in the modern luxury market.
Intreccio Vivo comprises an exceptional team of ten artisans under the age 25, who combine age-old basketry techniques with contemporary design. From their workshop overlooking the Sibillini Mountains, these young artisans work with various materials including wicker, leather, and rope, creating outstanding pieces for designers, stylists, and architects.
