I draw my designs using a virtual reality headset. Then I slice the form into layers to code it into the machine, pixel by pixel, one stitch at a time. It takes hours of work. The craftsman's labour is displaced, not erased. To finish, I press the piece with an iron to give it density.

I am inspired by architects who specialised in curves, like Niemeyer, Calatrava, and this is blended with a biomorphic approach on tropical orchids and butterfly wings. When zooming in on an insect, the colours are extraordinary. I am also deeply drawn to the technical notation of textiles and the graphic language associated with this.

Thinking about knitted textile as a 3D volume, and thinking about colour are my two singularities. I am fascinated by the act of taking these skills outside of the realm of clothing, into furniture and object design. Textile can be a structure in its own right, not just a surface covering.
