Where do you find your inspiration?
Nature is my muse, a passion nurtured since childhood. My mother, a botanical collector, instilled in me a deep appreciation for it. I am captivated by nature's intricate details, vibrant colours, and mesmerising patterns. This connection fuels my creativity.
How do you choose the materials for your creations?
I prioritise natural, sustainable materials. I source undyed deadstock fabrics like wool, silk, cotton, hemp or linen. For dyeing, I use plant-based pigments, either purchased or foraged. This approach aligns with my values and makes my creations unique and organic.
What defines your creative style?
My style blends technical expertise with nature-inspired artistry. I experiment with various textile crafts, combining techniques to echo natural forms. My engineering background offers a structured approach, while my connection to nature guides my vision.
What do you love most about your craft?
The element of surprise in my process thrills me. While I do plan meticulously, each piece takes on its final form organically through dyeing and pleating. This moment of artistic serendipity is magical. It is a dialogue between my vision and the materials that bring the creations to life.
