Ink on the mind and on the hands

Atelier Bonvini 1909 is a space where ideas are encouraged to come to life, a space that is open to artists and to the public. The letterpress machines transform textured paper thanks to colour, while words and images acquire meaning through the composition of a vast array of typefaces and fonts. Type blocks are made of wood and metal, and some of the fonts are rare, not to be found elsewhere. Colour, creativity, and ingenuity produce one-of-a-kind works of art. These are later available at the store and are displayed as hanging to dry, thus evidencing the handmade nature of the process.

The year 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the reopening of Bonvini 1909, a place now acknowledged as a unique hub in the Milanese cultural scene. Atelier 1909 Bonvini was opened in 2017, just around the corner from the store, to offer an even more immersive and hands-on experience. Through the window, passers-by in busy Corso Lodi get a glimpse of a friendly environment, with happy people at work, not afraid of getting ink in their hands.
