Atelier Jean-Brieuc Chevalier stands out for its ability to put wood into dialogue with other materials and disciplines, notably embroidery. Founder Jean-Brieuc Chevalier is trained in cabinetmaking, but his fascination with haute couture and textiles shaped his artistic vision, inspiring a distinctive approach to woodworking. A technical challenge during his studies led him to experiment with sewing in wood. This was a revelation that gradually became his signature skill: wood embroidery.
Founded in 2012, Jean-Brieuc Chevalier now brings together a team of eight, working along two main directions: cabinetmaking and marquetry, and wood embroidery. The team crafts bespoke furniture and decorative pieces for architects, designers and luxury brands. In parallel, they delve deeper into the creative potential of wood, experimenting with textile-inspired techniques such as embroidery but also weaving. Jean-Brieuc Chevalier’s wooden decorations and marquetry, often embellished with beads, embody a true conversation between excellent craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics.
