Founded in 1989, ALM Déco represents the culmination of Mireille Herbst's expertise in the art of lacquering. She started her journey in Bernard Roger's workshop, successor to the renowned Sain & Tambuté ateliers. Mireille assumed leadership of the business in 1994 after Bernard's retirement, and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality and excellence. Today, ALM Déco upholds a legacy of craftsmanship, dedicated to furniture restoration and lacquer finishing, and specialises in restoring 20th-century antiques, including pieces by Leleu, Arbus, Printz, and Grey.
The atelier is renowned for its mastery of traditional techniques such as gilding and eggshell inlay, skillfully executed by Mireille and her team of professionals. In 2017, ALM Déco received the prestigious Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant accolade, acknowledging its rare expertise and dedication to traditional techniques. This recognition also honours the exceptional artisanal heritage passed down through generations, as demonstrated by the collaboration between Mireille and her daughter, who continue to uphold their passion for lacquer and the excellence of ancestral approaches.
