The French Savoir-Faire Institute (INMA)

The Institut pour les Savoir-Faire Français (formerly INMA) is a public utility, non-profit association that was founded in 1889. It is France’s reference organisation for exceptional crafts and heritage skills. Guided by three core missions to make the diverse know-hows of France shine, grow and endure, the organisation raises visibility for crafts, boosts development and market readiness, and ensures transmission and sustainable evolution of possible career paths in the sector. Regional diversity and heritage are at the heart of the Institut's action: regional programmes energise local networks and build bridges with national initiatives. Driving high-level transmission with the Maîtres d’art–Élèves programme, in which the association pairs Masters with the next generation of craft talent, is another initiative designed to secure the life of rare métiers. Beyond France, the Institut pour les Savoir-Faire Français contributes to European cooperation and coordinates the European Craft Days in France and all over Europe, helping craft communities connect and flourish across borders.
