Homo Faber Fellowship

Homo Faber Fellowship is an annual eight-month international sponsored craft training programme designed for duos of master artisans and emerging talents. Participants will develop business and marketing knowledge, as well as design and hands-on practical skills through transmission from one generation to the next. 

The fifth edition will take place from September 2027 to April 2028 and benefit up to 40 national or international duos. For the first time, master artisans based in the United States and Canada are now eligible to apply, in addition to those based in Europe. Fellows of all nationalities and countries of residence are welcome to apply.

  • Masterclass in Segovia, Spain at the IE School of Architecture & Design
    1-month in-person creative and entrepreneurial masterclass for fellows (travel and shared accommodation included) 
    3 days masterclass for established artisans with fellows (travel and accommodation included) 
  • 6-month placement in a master artisan’s workshop 
    Comprising continued tailored accompaniment and e-learning
  • 1 co-created object per duo 
    Showcased at a closing exhibition
  • Exhibition opportunities to provide visibility for the duos and open business prospects 
  • For Fellows, a student status for the duration of the programme, and the “Homo Faber and IE School of Architecture & Design Diploma in Craft Entrepreneurship”, including the development of a craft business project.
