Jordi & Jenny: Furniture Making

Furniture maker Jordi Sarrate based in Spain & British fellow Jenny Colt

Jordi spent over 20 years in the fashion industry, reaching the position of creative director for a multinational company, before turning to furniture making in 2017. His grandfather was a cabinetmaker, but Jordi, who is self-taught, developed his own woodworking techniques and processes to create sculptural yet functional objects.

Jenny studied sculpture techniques at Escola Massana in Barcelona, which enabled her to work with wood, stone and metal. A work placement at a sculptural furniture design firm deepened her interest in furniture as functional art and she is now focused on working solely with wood in order to develop her skills and her affinity with this versatile material.
