Juliette & Myu: Wire Sculpting

Wire sculptor Juliette Frescaline based in France & Japanese fellow Myu Kumasaka

After studying mathematics, French wire sculptor Juliette trained in metalwork at ENSAAMA in Paris, where she discovered her passion for the craft. Based in Chatou, she works with annealed wire and repurposed metal sheets, building sculptures through accumulation to evoke the organic textures and fluid movement of nature.

Myu graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and developed a practice informed by traditional Japanese metal engraving techniques. Working line by line, she explores how the act of marking metal can visualise time and memory, seeking to translate the sensibility of Japanese craft into forms and objects that resonate across cultures.
