Ferronnerie Textile: architecture woven in ribbon

02/09/2026 | 05/09/2026Exhibited in AN ATELIER ALIVE

French Maison d’art Studio MTX brings embroidery into interior architecture, using textile techniques to create structures that animate and define space. Together with le19M, a site for heritage and creation that seeks to transmit the artistic crafts of fashion and decoration, they will present Ferronnerie Textile, an architectural surface that translates the visual and structural language of decorative ironwork into woven ribbons. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, artisans will tension, interlace and secure the ribbons by hand within wooden frames, gradually assembling a light-filtering claustra. Through precise control of shape and material, they create subtle plays of volume, shadow and reflection, introducing depth into space. At the intersection of surface and structure, the work acts as a spatial element that animates interior environments.
