The Winged Gardener

This sculpture by Cavallo was built on a wooden armature. Full grain leather panels were hand embroidered using zardozi, dabka, silk and gold thread, then scaled and layered feather by feather. The bird rests on a base composed of leather florals and fruits. Evoking the primordial force of nature, the piece captures the role of birds in its perpetual renewal.
