The Winged Gardener

This sculpture by Cavallo was built on a wooden armature. Full grain leather panels were hand embroidered using zardozi, dabka, silk and gold thread, then scaled and layered into feathers. Resting on a base of florals and fruits, the piece reflects birds as nature’s earliest gardeners, carrying seeds across landscapes and sustaining the quiet, perpetual cycle of renewal and life
