Scarpelli Mosaici specialises in commesso fiorentino, the Florentine centuries-old craft of inlaying semi-precious stones. Renzo Scarpelli founded the atelier in 1972, which is now carried forward by his children. The team has won several international awards for preserving this rare craft and reinterpreting it by introducing different stones such as labradorite and larimar.

By applying traditional techniques to modern design, Scarpelli Mosaici creates unique artworks, many of which are custom-commissioned for private clients. Located in the heart of Florence, the atelier welcomes visitors for private workshop tours. Artisans demonstrate how stones, selected for their colour and interplay with light, are intricately cut and assembled into vivid stone paintings.
