Martín Badia has enjoyed drawing since he was a child. For him, it was always an escape. At the age of 14, he was asked to illustrate a book that a teacher from his school was going to publish, and from that moment he knew he would devote himself to illustration. His illustrations explore new paths and attempt to break with tradition. "Artistic creation has permeated all aspects of my life for as long as I can remember, from applied arts, illustration, ceramics and sculpture to writing. I am always looking for new means to express emotions, stories or concepts," says Martín. "I do not think I could do anything else. Over the years, my interests have changed, but I have always used art to channel my emotions." His masks are colourful pieces that have attracted attention ever since he started making them, and today they are a key element in his creative range.
