The Golden Moon Shine; The Moon Lights up on the Sea

These jars by Ji-Woon Yang were wheel thrown and finished with different glazes and multiple firings at varying temperatures to achieve a luminous effect. Drawing on the East Asian tradition of making wishes upon the full moon, the pieces express the artist’s hopes for a bright future. The Golden Moon Shine depicts a full moon illuminating the sky in gold. The Moon Lights up on the Sea portrays a full moon reflected on rolling waves.
