Ash wood, Plywood
This dresser by Trey Jones was created using a technique inspired by nerikomi ceramics. Salvaged plywood offcuts were stack-laminated into patterned blocks, then sculpted into a five-drawer structure. The surface was wire-brushed to reveal the grain, and finished with a hand-dyed ombré. Inspired by the wind-carved striations and austere beauty of desert sandstone cliffs, the work celebrates the natural world through the transformation of reclaimed materials into enduring craft.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
