This sculpture by Maki Imoto was crafted by coating a refractory plaster mould with layers of colourless powdered glass, and firing it in a kiln. Exploring the effects of heat on glass, the work reveals patterns and textures that emerge through the material’s transformation. These traces invite a sensory, bodily response, becoming a point of connection between material, perception and human experience.
