Urushi, Bamboo strip, Steel
This sculpture by Jiro Yonezawa was crafted from thin bamboo strips, tightly woven around a copper pipe. The surface was finished with urushi lacquer. Playing with the fluidity of the material, the piece explores the design potential of bamboo through an unexpected silhouette.
