This sculpture by Georgia Tikaputini Douglas Hood was coil built from clay, and carved with ornamental patterns while leather-hard. After bisque firing, the surface was painted with an iron oxide glaze and glaze fired. Reimagining Neoclassical pottery conventions associated with Georgian and Victorian Britain, the work examines the colonial histories of Aotearoa New Zealand through a Māori perspective.
